Maiden Vermont was the result of a sunny day spent wandering the back roads of Vermont with sketchbook and camera (my favorite thing to do!). The cow and the barn are from different counties, but I thought they really belonged together. I enjoy combining elements in my compositions, opting for the ?what should be? over the ?what is?. In the scene, I tried to capture the feeling of a lazy-hazy summer afternoon on the farm.
