Our Town was inspired by the village of Pawlet Vermont on a late winter?s evening. The air was heavy and moist, with more snow sure to come before morning. The snow covered rooftops create a wonderful pattern of light against the mountain backdrop.
Using artistic license, I imported the East Poultney Baptist Church, as a steeple made a nice addition to the composition. Rather than paint the ?what is?, it is sometimes more fun to paint ?what could be?.
