Echo Lake Morning Aug 7, 2017
My friend Bob Sydorowich and I painted at Echo Lake in Ludlow last week.
We worked silently as the mist rose over Camp Plymouth.
I recalled the chilly morning swims at the summer boy scout camp so many years ago, and waited patiently for Bob to utter his dependable phrase…
“You gotta be crazy not to love this!”

Art in the Park!
If you are in the Rutland area this weekend, August 12 & 13, please stop by Art in the Park and say hello.
I’ll be in my usual hiding spot with a few originals, and a large selection of prints. I look forward to a nice weekend, seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
Cow Crossing
Some paintings take a rather circuitous route to completion.
I spotted this farm scene in Hubbardton on one recent sunny morning, and only had time to snap a quick photo.
The actual painting began as a demonstration at the beautiful Mission Farm in Killington.
I finally finished it last week in the studio.
Getting there is always half the fun.

Hi Peter, I did the same swims at the boy scout camp. Remember it well. Your painting of the lake is really great. You tied it all together with the colors just right.
Thanks Steven!

Awesome, each Monday to see and share your offering with Ohio friends! They love your work and it is a regular reminder to me, of home, sweet home! Born and raised in Middlebury, I am proud to show the few pieces I have of your fine expressions in paint.
Thanks Jeff!
I love your Echo Lake Morning. Brings back memories of early morning fishing, watching the otters fish for their young and the early morning turtles on stones surrounding another lake I frequented. I can feel the mist and smell the surrounding trees. Great job!
Thanks Sylvia!
How lovely lies the mist on peaceful waters! Also I find “Cow Crossing” of great interest, first of all because it’s painted from a unique visual perspective, and secondly what I really find arresting are the representations of rich, blue chicory blossoms that seem to spring up everywhere along the highways of Vermont in August and , in this artistic case, have added hints of their blue beauty to stately silos and distant roof tops.
Thank you Brian!
I like your work. Organic.
