Hubbardton Battlefield Jul 17, 2017

I attended the Hubbardton Battle reenactment last weekend, and what a show it was.

Last year I painted “Green Mountain Boys” along the top of the hill.

This one features Mount Zion in the background.

Apparently the Green Mountain Boys are in my blood.

And the winners are..

Each Month I draw two random Day in Vermont subscribers to win a free print of their choice.

It’s one small way I can say thanks for your continued support.

Our first winner for July is Carolyn Kennedy of Kalamazoo, MI. Carolyn chose “Fern Lake” and had this to say…

“I have followed A Day in Vermont for several years now, as a fan of Peter Huntoon’s art, and I’m very excited to win the monthly drawing. I have inspiring memories of our travels to Vermont – the gorgeous landscape and warm, independent people – when my son was a student at Green Mountain College. Many thanks to you, Peter, and please keep rocking it with your art! I always enjoy seeing Vermont through your eyes.”

Our second winner is Eric Mallette, of Rutland, Vermont. Eric chose “Proctor Bridge” and had this to say…

“Vermont is colorful, oft juxtaposed, alluring and is renowned for forging its own path. All qualities that can be found in a Huntoon watercolor. I’m drawn to the flow of Peters “Proctor Bridge” – your eye naturally follows the curve of Main St as it swoops over Otter Creek and dips down one of this small town’s seemingly endless supply of hills. This will proudly be hung in our new home in….PROCTOR!”
