Prospect Hill May 9, 2013
This painting was inspired by the Hathaway Farm high on Prospect Hill Road overlooking Rutland, Vermont.
I envisioned the climb up the hill as a series of rolling spring meadows, eager to get their green on.
Watermedia collage added an appropriate organic texture and subtle surface quality to the original painting.

My favorite artist in the whole wide world is Mareva Millarc. She is an amazing, talented, beautiful woman. She is also my wife. We would like to cordially invite you to visit the Festival Gallery at the Village Square in Waitsfield, Vermont. Mareva’s solo show “Expressions” runs through June 7, with a closing reception that evening. Read more about this exciting show here.
I ditto the invitation to the closing reception of Mareva’s beautiful exhibit at the Festival Gallery. We are enjoying sharing her work with the folks in the Mad River Valley. The Gallery is open Monday – Saturday 10-3 .
Love the painting, Peter!

Thank you very much Karen, we will see you at the reception!
very cool texture…what an interesting idea….great painting
Thank you Christine, I do enjoy the texture and design possibilities of occasional collage. Some subjects just ask me to use it.
Love this painting too, Peter! The Hathaway Farm is just around the corner from our home. It’s an awesome place and what a view of the beautiful Rutland Town area as you look back toward the city! I love to cut across from where I live on my way to Sugar ‘N Spice for breakfast often enjoying the cows, and calves and other farm animals that are often grazing in those lush green meadows. I always look forward to seeing your work as you share with us your latest adventures. How lucky we are. Thank You.
Hi Mary Fran, thanks for the nice comments. The best adventures are the ones we share.
I like it! Nice job
Thank you Sandy, right in your back yard!
On the way to ” Home sweet Home”
