Quiet Afternoon Jun 5, 2017

Some days are better than others.

Among my favorites are the quiet summer afternoons where the whole world seems to take a deep breath and relax.

Brings back so many memories of peaceful days in Vermont. Will try to catch the show online, if possible.

How much I appreciate the stories you continue to tell with brush and paint. The subject photo speaks of a quiet Vermont barnyard in early spring……but from there your art eloquently reminds us through the exaggerated sag and sway of the barn and the quiet horse soaking in the sun’s warmth that a hard winter has barely passed, and that, in the briefest of time, the foliage on the trees will be mature, and fields will sway with tall grasses dancing to the bob-o-links’ song. Congrats on adding PBS to your list of accomplishments. I’ll be watching the series.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how fast time passes lately, Brian. Not sure why. Thank you!

Peter, I have added this to the calendar for Thursday night and look forward to viewing. Proud to say I went through school with you and saw your talents emerge through out the years. Well done sir, well done!

    • Peter Huntoon says:

Thanks very much Chris, in some ways, I feel like we’ve come a long way since 1980. In others, (hopefully in the best of ways), I’m still the exact same kid.

Are you the nephew of the late Artist Fred Thrane? MY Mom, Natalie Koschny Pfanstiehl (aka Cindy) knewk him through RISD & I have an unsigned oil painting she says was done by him (possibly in the 80s?*)& I was hoping I could get your opinion. *not sure about the dates, she also attended RISD in 1939 & later was given an Honorary Degree in the 80’s, by the time she told me this (prior I always thought she’d done it), she was 98 or 99 & by then her memories got a little confused. I looked for you on Facebook but only found Jordan & a deceased Christopher Thrane. I’m hoping this reaches you & look forward to your reply. If possible, please contact me through Facebook or Messenger, but hopefully this will go thru & I will get a notice if you answer? Many thanks & Best Regards, Nina
