Tinmouth Pond Oct 23, 2017
We were hoping to find a good vantage point at Tinmouth Pond. (aka Chipman Lake)
We did.
From here, the “pavilion” is on the far shore, with Colvin Hill and Danby above in the distance.
It’s not too hard to find a good spot to paint this time of year.
Thank you Chris Edmunds and family!

This painting is like an invitation to Vermont in the fall. Or maybe I am just feeling left out since this is the first fall in years, maybe 20, that I have not spent at least 1 week of October in Vermont. It is a wonderful reminder of why I return almost every year and more than once a year when it is possible.
Thanks Catherine!
My husband was born in Danby, grew up in Tinmouth. This area is special to me. This picture captures it perfectly.
Thanks Marge!
Beautiful picture, my father love Tinmouth Pond.
Thanks Cecelia!
A boat on a Vermont lake is always an invitation for adventure. Peter has certainly captured that sprit and homey local feel ofVermont.
Thanks Cassie!
This painting makes me want to be there!
Thanks Patricia!
Just lovely!
Thanks Em!
I love, love, love this one! Those little dots of turquoise are brilliant!
Thanks Christine!
You bring us former Vermonter’s home with your gorgeous paintings. I look forward to seeing each one that you post. Thank you so much for these awesome works of arts.
Thanks Ann!
Gorgeous! I grew up in the little town of West Tinmouth. I try to go back once a year to visit. You do wonderful work!
Thanks Dawn!
What a vast amount of nature you captured in this painting. Such a nice setting for ending Summer; change to Fall. Nice to have the boat in the border with it’s ID. Thank you for Monday gifts. Cynthia
Thanks Cynthia!
This is a view from my husband’s family’s camp on Tinmouth Pind. My father-in-law always called it a little piece of heaven which you’ve captured beautifully!
That’s right Julie, the “Lewis Compound”. Thanks!
A multitude of crisp brushstrokes (mainly with flat brushes and possibly brights?) have knit together an almost mosaic-like rendition of a time of beauty and peace at Tinmouth Pond. Like the facets on a sparkling diamond each brushstroke has taken its place in contributing to a splendid and united whole!
Yes, mostly flats and brights, and knives, and scrapers. I do like making marks. Someone said Unity is the most important principle of design. I can’t argue. Thank you Brian!
What a pleasure for you: to sit in a fine landscape, to watch it and to paint the heartbeat of those places. Every week a new aspect of this wonderful Vermont. Greetings from Berlin.
A pleasure indeed Doris, and a privilege. Then, sharing it with you is delicious icing on the cake.
🙂
Your paintings are so beautiful. They tweak my heart.
