Bloomsberry Aug 4, 2014
This exuberant bouquet was one of many exciting guests attending the Bloomsberry Festival in Middletown Springs Saturday.
The “magical” event celebrated flowers, blueberries, art and literature.
Vermont author Stephen Kiernan spoke and read from his recent book, “The Curiosity”.
What’s not to love about the magic of a small town in Vermont?

Let’s get Small
Do you remember Steve Martin’s classic Saturday Night Live skit, “Let’s get Small?”
If not it doesn’t matter.
But it was funny.
Good things often come in small packages.
One great “small” package is Small Dog Electronics.
When I encounter friendly, genuine, exceptional customer service I take notice.
And give thanks.
I’d like to extend a small but sincere thank-you to the nice people at Small Dog in Rutland, Vermont.
Every time I’ve been to the store I’ve walked out feeling good. That’s worth mentioning.
Recently my iMac was well on its way to crashing.
Anticipating the worse…I braced for the usual nightmare and downtime.
Small Dog under promised and over delivered with a new hard drive and updated operating system in less than 24 hours.
Back to normal the next day, sincerely grateful.
Maybe small is the new big?
If that’s true, Vermont is still the perfect place to be.
This is just one beautiful painting with great colors.
I had fun with this one Claire. Well, I guess I have fun with most of them come to think of it. 🙂 Thanks!
I love the colors! Bright colors make my heart smile.
A smile is contagious Gwendolyn, and I’m smiling back.
love this one the best of all your works as am an avid gardener. You have expertly captured each of the flowers!!!!
Thanks Sukie, I’ll take your word for it. I don’t know the names of many flowers but I love their individual personalities.
Such a beautiful painting! Love the flowers AND love Small Dog too. They are the best!
Most of us artists have come to depend on technology to help us do our work Lowell. When we find a good partner we can depend on, it’s a good feeling.
Was it hard to concentrate with all those goodies calling from the next table? The flowers remind me of those that my mother used to gather daily at our cabin in Brookfield. Thanks!
At first Bill, the pie was definitely a temptation, but once I get painting the blinders come on and I can get pretty focused in the face of distraction. The flowers were indeed stunning.
You always write the most encouraging kind words. And this painting just sent joy to my heart! It truly sparkles!! Thanks again for a beautiful touch of Vermont summer.
Thank you Muriel, it was (relativity) easy to make this subject sparkle with a few main ingredients…color, gratitude, and joy.
This is so beautifully detailed. I love this painting, as with all of your paintings, they bring smiles to my face!
Maybe this bouquet is smiling along with us Susie. Thanks!
BEAUTIFUL!
And as a small business owner – Blue Cloud Gallery in Somerville, MA – I appreciate you giving a shout-out to a business that you felt was remarkable. You have done a remarkable civic service to them.
Thanks Betsy, as I get older (and perhaps more discerning?) I really appreciate the (often Small) differences between good and great.
Love this painting it’s so vibrant Peter
Thanks Stacey!
Beautiful painting. Love the colors!
Thank you Marie!
Beautiful – reminds me of summers in Vermont – you always do such good work – will you be at Art in the Park in August?
I WILL be at Art in the Park this coming weekend, Aug 9, & 10. Please stop by and say hello! Thanks Judy!
This painting is so beautiful! Love the colors!
I know you love the flowers Lisa, thanks!
Great work from a perfect gentleman. Your work always creates a positive vibe for me. Thank you Peter.
Aw shucks Michele, thank you. If my paintings give you a positive vibe my real message is getting through.
I love this painting! Vermont summers are all about beautiful flowers and the emotions they bring. They are bright and fresh just like our summer days. Keep doing more florals- love them!
Thanks very much Kathy, one of my favorite things about Vermont is the ever changing seasons, and subjects. You can bet I’ll be sure offer up a few more florals before they’re gone.
You just keep on creating beautiful work. Truly inspiring. I really am enjoying getting your work in my email.
So sorry to hear about your dad. It is very hard to lose our parents. My thoughts are with you.
I mentioned at the demo Saturday that I still like to think my best work is ahead. The carrot of my “best painting ever” is always dangling out front. Glad you are enjoying the game with me. Thank you for your condolences Sue.
Nothing is more beautiful or heartwarming than a scene of a colorful, wild flower centerpiece…..you have more than captured the beauty of it all! Love your work of art! Oh, Happy Day!
Thanks very much Em, really glad to have to aboard A Day in Vermont!
Your bouquet brightened my day! Thank you for another lovely floral.
Thanks Sue, always nice to hear from you here!
Please note my new email address….it changed this last Fall…
I AM EAGERLY AWAITING YOUR NEXT AUCTION….I CAN SENSE FALL IN THE AIR.
Late this PM, Maisy Mae and I took a woodland drive after a hard rainstorm. Mists were hanging in the valleys, and a sense of changing seasons hung about me. Maisy ia my little rshelter doggie I adopted last January. She said to tell you hello.
Bonnie Walker, Leeds, AL
Hello Bonnie, I checked my email sedate and you are indeed in there with you new email address. And I agree, just a slight change in the air recently. And a big hello to your small doggie! Thanks!
