Daylily and Flax Aug 1, 2016

I had a yellow-orange color craving last week and found it in the flower bed.

The painting was done before I asked my wife what they were.

I don’t know very much about flowers.

But I sure do love color.

For an artist, sometimes that’s enough.

Art in the Park

If you happen to be in the Rutland (Vermont) area this coming weekend (Aug 6 & 7) you are in for a classic summer treat.

Art in the Park will be at Main St. Park (Rt. 7 and West St.) both  Saturday and Sunday from 10 – 5PM.

I’ll be there with my artwork and easel, enjoying the great weather (I hope!) and working on something new. Please stop by and say hello.

The month of July with its nights of fireworks progresses into August. Rich greens of foliage now burst forth with blossoms of every type to celebrate the summer’s peak. Warm reds and yellows and golds sparkling amongst the cooler blues and greens lend depth and volume. A fan-like composition, much like remembered lights of the recent 4th of July sky, now bursts with spectacular sun-lit joy. Well done, Peter, as always!

The pretty little blue flowers remind me of forget-me-nots I planted several years ago (now long gone).

Just wanted to say how your artwork brightens my Mondays! These flowers are an exquisite way to start my day! I love the landscapes, especially any including cows, but variety is the spice of life! Thank you for sharing your talent with us in this format!!!

NICE! you put the flowers together seamlessly… we have lemon and tiger lilies…I always wish for more than a DAY for them to stay. Cynthia

I thought the two colors would compliment each other well, and they were actually next to each other in the garden. I just “integrated” them. Thanks Cynthia!
