Fields of Gold Jun 27, 2013

Does it get any better than the aroma of cut meadow grass on a warm summer evening?

The fields are alive with the sound of music as the distant rhythmic chug and chop echo through the valleys.

Like a John Deere on the move, I decided to shift gears and add collage for an organic texture half way through. Play it safe on a tractor, not art.

I often stress to my students the importance of drawing. There are many good books and videos that can help us learn how to draw. That said, the very best way to learn how to draw is to…DRAW.

Life drawing is an excellent way to hone your drawing skills and stay sharp. The Chaffee Art Center in downtown Rutland offers life drawing sessions from 6 – 8 PM every Thursday evening. I will be there tonight, 6/27/13. Grab your sketchbook and join us!

Love it! You make me love VT more than I already do. Also, love that you promote others as well as yourself. One more reason to admire you.

We are all in this big boat together Nancy, sink or swim. Thanks so much for your continued support, your nice comments, and cutting our weeds. 🙂

This one is a real stand-out for me. Wasn’t John Deere from Rutland?

    • Peter Huntoon says:

Hi Brian. Yes JD was born here in Rutland in 1804, moving to Middlebury a year later. He left Vermont for Illinois in 1836. What a legacy.
