Cheerful picture for a rainy monday morning. Love it.
Thank you!
I could watch my hens all day. I love their personalities and how different they are from one another. I have seen several of your paintings include chickens, but I love this one the most because the chickens are the “stars” of the painting. Very cute!
I agree about the personalities. We have a lot in common with chickens!
Great picture! I love chickens!
Thanks Dawn!
The colors and movement make this painting come alive. Nice to see you tackle another frontier, poultry !
Gotta keep stretching Cathy, thanks!
There are so many chickens in Vermont. As we drive around, it is interesting to see the various breeds. From those penned in to the independent flock that has the run of the yard and sometimes even the road we are on. We love the fact that you captured the graphic descriptions of this group so perfectly! Enjoy this rainy Monday in your beautiful studio.
Mareva (my wife) always laughs out loud when we see chickens. They put on a show and don’t even know it. Thanks Muriel!
Happy June to YOU, Peter….Chicks among the “dandies” – LOVE these beautiful beings.
What a great subject to capture and SO WELL DONE!
You know I’ll never run out of subjects in Vermont Victoria, or inspiration. Thanks!
I love this picture. Chickens are such characters. Peter you have created another beauty!
Thank you Michele!
It is good to be a free-ranger and eat healthy.
Free range and grass fed…yum! Thanks Pati!
Love it! Chickens are just great subjects to paint.
Thanks David!
I love pictures of chickens they are so colorful.
I get a little carried away with color sometime…glad you approve Norma!
You have captured their personalities perfectly. Look at them, strutting their stuff!!
Thanks Michelle!
I like seeing them run free. You captured them in their glory. Bea
Thanks Bea!
What a fun painting! It’s a rainy morning here in Orange, but personable chickens and golden dandelion blossoms can make every day sunny to all except the unfortunate bugs that meet the “rangers'” beady eyes. ( Also, I love the feeling of movement in this painting’s composition)
Yes Brian, I would hate to be a bug in the grass in this vicinity. Thanks much!
What a great painting! I can hear them clucking!
Thank you Stacy!
Reminds me of my Vermont youth in the 1930″s with chickens in the back yard.
Everything old is new again. Here’s to the return of the backyard chickens! Thanks John!
Love your landscapes, but this flock of chickens on this rainy morning, made me smile! Charlotte Birchmore
Smiles are among my favorite forms of currency. Tears (of joy) and hugs are good too. 🙂
I love this! Don’t get me wrong, I love all of your work. But, I LOVE this!
Thanks Beverly, much appreciated!
I am totally for free range chickens. I make a point of eating only eggs from free range hens. Can’t yet afford the meat though…
If we all do what we can we can do a lot in the right direction. Thanks Lucy!
how can anyone not love this piece of art! Chickens free roaming how lucky they are not being gaged up like most are today. How farming is getting back to natural upbringings is so wonderful to see, hear about and even wonderful paintings like this one!!! I just loved this wonderful art. Winnie jackson
Thanks so much Winnie, yes we are on the right track in some areas. Just visit a local farmers market to see great things happening.
I love how they appear marching down the hill! Your verse and alliteration about the chickens amuses me as much as your painting of them! You definitely have fun with words. You’re a writer as well, hm?
I don’t take myself too seriously Rebecca, and try to have fun with it all. Helps to keep the joy intact. Thanks!
Cutest chickens I ever did see!
Thanks Marcia!
So cheerful for a rainy day – THANKS!! Nancy
I wonder if Chickens notice the weather, and discuss it as much as we do? I am guessing yes. Thanks Nancy!
That is such an awesome painting. Never thought I would like to have a painting of chickens… But there is something about this one that is really intriguing.
Thank you Christine!
Love the feel of this painting! It captures the essence of our chickens when they are “on the move”!
Thanks Rosemary!
Is it possible to get a print of this whimsical piece?
You bet Rosemary, just give me a call and stop by. 235-2328. Sissy’s has one (or at least had one) there in her box too. TY!
