“Always a good place to start.” I begin each day with a gift from Peter Huntoon. His ability to capture light, color, texture and space is undoubtedly one of the day’s treasured moments. So let’s begin again, and again, and again through the eyes of this artist; it’s the journey!
I’ll admit it Tracy, I could not decide between “Country Road” and “October Road”, both JT song titles. They were both playing in my head when I painted this one.
I visit Vermont on vacations and I enjoy exploring “Roads Off The Beaten Path” usually in a car but most enjoyable on a bicycle. They usually lead to beautiful scenery and places. I look through this painting and only wonder as to where it leads. I always look forward to the next “A Day In Vermont” e-mail and wonder where the next painting will take me. Thank you Peter for such a wonderful concept!
As much as I enjoy each and every one, this one of my most favorites as it reaches my core immediately and those feelings are hard to express in words. Thank you for these opportunities to view your artistic poetry.
Hopper said “If I could say it with words there would be no reason to paint.” Art does have the power to transcend words and strike a chord in our hearts.
While we never know what the day may bring, or where a road may take us there is comfort in the path, even if less taken. There is delight in the beauty of the day and peace in the embrace of nature around us as it draws us further and further down that road. This piece embraces those days and draws me in with the comfort of color, light and hope. Thank you again Peter for your gift.
Thanks so much Sue, I share your optimistic vision of what each of our roads can be…a not so distant future of hopeful possibility, happiness, and peace.
So happy and lucky to bump into you folks today! Art is the hobby I love in my retirement, and I brag that Peter Huntoon gave me my first lessons! Thank you Peter for your friendship. Bill
Always good to see you Bill, and great to hear you are still painting. It’s been a long while since that first lesson. Long enough for me to learn how much I don’t know. That’s a lot.

Thanks very much Billy! I hope all is well in your colorful world. It’s the journey indeed.
Love it Peter! Makes me think of the James Taylor song and album “October Road” always good to listen to at this time of year.

We have been blessed with some of the most beautiful October Days. Nice to see you capture one on canvas!
Thanks Charlene, the weather this fall has certainly been ideal for painting.
Yours is ALWAYS my favorite email!
Thanks for the high praise Patty, I’ll do my best to keep em coming.

Hello Randy, and good to hear from you. I promise I will do a scene with some bikes one day. Thanks for riding along with me!

I like it Peter. Had an opportunity to cross New England this week. At this time of year it feeds the soul.
Thanks Jim, you are certainly right about fall feeding the soul.
