The painting of Sunday Bandstand was developed from many sketches and photographs of the classic summertime event in Rutland’s Main Street Park. Probably more important were the fond memories of my childhood attending the very same events with my family. I tried to capture the timeless qualities and a thread that ties the community together through generations.
