Texas Falls Sep 15, 2014
Texas Falls in Hancock is a magnificent example of natural beauty.
Any artist can be humbled in her presence.
I brought my gear to paint right there on location, aka “Plein Air”.
But this scene could only be captured from the high narrow bridge.
That’s when an artist with a mild fear of heights settles for a quick photo.
And paints back at the studio on solid ground.

If you don’t have a subscription to Vermont Magazine, I hope you will pick up the new Fall issue just arriving on news stands now.
Inside you will find a four page sparkling feature article about our very own A Day in Vermont.
The piece was written by fellow Vermonter Anthony Marro. Tony started at the Rutland Herald, was a long time reporter and editor for Newsday, Newsweek and the New York Times, and recently co-authored a book about Vermont in the ’60s: “Philip Hoff: How Red Turned Blue in the Green Mountain State”.
Enjoy!
You are all over the place, Peter, and capturing some very beautiful, extraordinary spots in Vermont. Texas Falls is another fabulous example !! It’s always a surprise to open your link ….
And half the fun for me is discovering new places to paint each week. I try to get out a couple times each week and just head off in a direction. Sometimes with a destination in mind, but often not. The one thing I do know is that I’ll never run out of subjects here in Vermont. Thank you Joanne!
HEY PETER!! AS USUAL THANKS AGAIN FOR THE AWESOME INSPIRATION YOU SHARE EVERY WEEK!! MY HEART BURSTS W/ PRIDE @ HOW WELL YOU ARE DOING!! ROCK-ON 🙂
You are a sweetheart Kari, thanks so much for all your support!
Such a calming picture. Have to look for the September issue of Vermont Life to read the article on you. You are even more famous!
Hope to can find a copy down there in Ga. David. I don’t know about famous. My pup seems to accept both my successes and failures with equal enthusiasm. Good dog!
Congratulations, Peter! And thanks for telling me about it; I will be sure to pick up a copy of Vermont Life.
I love the teal green tucked into the bottom of your painting. I am a photographer who I believe is a frustrated painter. You do inspire me!
Thanks Betsy, that green was one of the first colors I put down…building the rest of the painting around it. One thing always leads to another. Don’t worry, I get frustrated too!
I love this one Peter! Hope it stays green for just a bit longer!
Hi Olivia! Yes…present moment living in Vermont. Green today, Gone tomorrow. 🙂
