Vermont Vista Aug 18, 2014

The meadow is speckled with Queen Anne’s lace and red clover.

The trees of August are still holding their green.

Danby Mountain and the valley below still bask in the waning warmth of summer.

My friend Bob Sydorowich and I stumble onto a spot to appreciate the view.

Another good Day in Vermont!

Perhaps you have heard of the 251 Club of Vermont?

The 251 Club is “A growing association of people from around the world interested in learning more about the Green Mountain State by visiting its 252 towns and cities.”

I recently joined and as you might suspect… my personal goal is to eventually paint all 251 locations.

We’re off to a good start.

And we’ve got a long way to go!

That makes me very happy.

And another thing…

Although Vermont Villages aren’t on the map, we like them too.

East Wallingford, for example.

Here are a few recent paintings now available as limited edition prints. (sorry, originals already sold)

What a fabulous goal and a wonderful depiction of and for Vermont. I will continue looking forward to each selection. Vermont Vista is one of my favorites!

  • I applaud you for your 251 goal…Carl and I have talked about doing this as well…today is the perfect day to get out and enjoy the weather and views which seem to already be changing….I really love the delicate straight lines in this one…beautiful!

We have had a great summer, for just about any activity. It might take me many years to get every town painted, but hopefully I have a few left so that’s OK. Thanks Christine!

When you come to Kirby, we’d gladly give you a tour! Some nice views of Willoughby Gap from several vistas in our sleepy little town..

Beautiful. I love mountains of Vermont. My first thought when I saw this was, “The hills are alive with the sound of music.”

We just heard about the 251 Club two weeks ago and joined right up. Excited to receive our book and start checking where we have been. Looking forward to all the places you will be taking your easel to delight our heart and eyes with your beautiful work and happy comments depicting this green place we call home. Thanks again.

Peter – When you are ready to visit Moretown (north end of the Mad River Valley) let me know. There are some spectacular views in our neck of the woods! I continue to love your paintings and enjoy the one hanging in my living room. We had a great day at the Plein AIr Paint-Out last weekend – missed you!

I’ll look forward to a personal tour Karen, thanks very much for the kind offer…I’ll be in touch to schedule. Speaking of schedules, it’s been tough to do that this year and I apologize for missing the paint out. Hopefully next year!
