Creative Collaboration
Like many in our A Day in Vermont series, this painting location was a brilliant suggestion from a subscriber.
And I’m very pleased to announce another project that I couldn’t have done without you…
New Book: A Day in Vermont Volume 1
Dan Colton and Anthony Edwards of the Rutland Herald beat me to the punch on Saturday with a wonderful article about our book project.
Many of you suggested this book. So let it be written, so let it be done.
For the last few months the Digital Arts students at Stafford Technical Center have been hard at work on a gorgeous hard cover book.
The 100 page book will have a selection of about 45 paintings, along with comments and photos of the creative process.
I’ll be working with Karen Kysar and her class to prepare a digital “preview” so you can see what it looks like.
The book will be available in about two weeks and you’ll be able to order directly from my website.
The book price is $60…and I do feel the need to explain that cost. We are “self publishing” this book with “Blurb” and the actual cost is very close to that. Any and all profit will be donated to the Stafford Digital Arts class.
Thanks very much for suggesting the book. I’ll post an update soon with details in case you would like to order one!

Great picture! Good news on your book. The money may be worth it, if you painted the pictures!
Thanks for the vote of confidence David!
Congratulations on the book deal, i’m looking forward to it
Thanks Larry, and congrats to you as well! I saw our friend Lee at the post office yesterday and he told me you were home early Saturday. Can’t wait to hear the story!
I love it! I am so happy for your Peter – ironically, I feel like this is a dream come true (for me…LOL)!
This is such a win-win and only YOU to think of the collaboration – this is awesome and more than I thought of initially. Count me in for several copies! Great for Christmas presents.
Thanks so much Michelle for all the support and encouragement to do a book. It’s been great fun working with the “kids”…they are amazing!
Finally, a painting with a cyclist in the scene. I met you about 10 years ago and mentioned including a cyclist in your work. I ride my bike everywhere but more importantly, people from all over go to Vermont to cycle the challenging terrain and take in a slower view of your beautiful state.
I was thinking of you Randy when I decided to include the bike, glad you noticed! I’ll keep looking for more…I loved painting the bike and especially the tires and spokes.
Great news about your book project! The first in a series….?
Thanks Marty, you were the first (or among the first) to suggest it… and who knows what we may do from here. I called this first one “Volume 1″….just in case. 🙂
Another great one! And after a wonderful learning night at the Chaffee watching you paint and giving a running narration, you gave us a clearer understanding with this latest work of art of all those words you talked about: junction, confluence, synthesis, integration, unity, and collaboration. You are a walking, talking, painting professor, and now a book producer. Make sure you save one for us!
Great to see you both Friday at the demo Muriel, thanks for coming out. It will be fun to see the resulting video next Monday. The more I paint the more convinced I am that the same “artistic principles” work as well for life in general as they do in my painting. That’s good because I can only remember just so many rules! I’ll put you down for a book. Thanks again!
Peter – are prints of WRJ available?
Yes David, you can click the “Order Print” button above, or here is the direct link… https://www.peterhuntoon.com/shop/white-river-junction/ Let me know if I can help. Thanks!!
