Stowe Farm
This painting was inspired by the Percy Farm in Stowe, Vermont.
I was in the mood for a limited palette.
In my art and life, the idea of simplification continues to appeal.
A quiet strength and unassuming integrity seems to pervade the essential, the forthright, and succinct.
Wishing you a safe, happy, and simple Thanksgiving!
Size: 12X16 (auctioned unframed)

A beauty, Peter. Thankyou for this and for your wishes to everyone! Have a safe and happy day.
Listening to Debussy as I soak in this lovely painting. Oh, Peter, if you knew what this does for my spirit each Monday morning. So much to be thankful this week in spite of it all! Fondly from Florida
Very beautiful – just enough to appreciate the different tones & shading. Thank you
Just Beautiful Peter
Thanks for another great painting to start my week. Happy Thanksgiving.
LOVE IT… it’s perfect!
like an impressionist work of art!
Sometimes a limited palette can be such an asset. Here it seems to capture especially well the rugged beauty of weathered buildings, gray skies, and the quiet peace of a Vermont farm. As always, Peter, you’ve Done a beautiful work of art.
One of may favorites so far. Some once said: The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and all of your cheerleaders here on this comment post.
Peter, ‘Tis a gift to be simple….as the old song goes. May you enjoy a Thanksgiving and holiday season filled with simplicity and peaceful joy.
Sometimes less *is* more. Though the palette used was a limited one, the resulting painting is far from simple. It has a beauty that is both serene and dramatic. The power of simplicity! It’s a soothing balm – especially in times of heightened anxiety. // Hope you and your loved ones had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Thank you all for the support and comments!
