Inn at Long Trail
Auction Closed. Sold via Buy Now. Next Auction Monday Jan 18.
The Inn at Long Trail, nestled against Deer Leap Mountain in Killington. With an authentic Irish Pub, great food, music and people, there’s a lot to love.
Q: How do you know when a painting is done?
A: I have two dependable methods…
There comes a time in every painting when I’ve thoroughly explored the possibilities and, to the best of my current ability, have said what I wanted to say. Anything more is too much. It’s a tipping point of diminishing returns. When I’ve made three consecutive marks that do more harm than good, that’s my signal to put down the brush. The second dependable method? Monday.
Size: 12X16 (auctioned unframed)
Medium: Oil on panel

THE COMPOSITION IS SO INTERESTING IN THIS ONE
This brings back so many fond memories of being at the Inn and climbing Deer’s Leap. Beautiful view of the Inn.
Borrowing from The Mamas & the Papas … “Monday, Monday – so good to me. Monday mornin’, it was all I hoped it would be …” / Beautiful & tranquil depiction of the Inn & its majestic surroundings, Peter. THANK YOU for delivering another Monday morning highlight!
Base for skiing Killing ton for many years. Never tire of the Inn and its people. So many great memories. Wonderful job representing this landmark inn.
Enjoy your paintings and your outlook.
Had to laugh at your second method of determining a painting is done. Deadlines can work wonders sometimes!
nice to know where this is.
All Nature; ledge, trees, snow, water and sky ….surrounding the buildings.
Thank you very much for the comments and support!
