Barn Dance

The farm geese were having a good time in a local barnyard last week.

I learned a fun new word recently. Anthropomorphism is a literary device that assigns human characteristics to nonhuman entities like animals or inanimate objects.

Like empathy, it’s a worthy perspective to paint from.

Auction Update

You may have noticed that many auction paintings are selling quickly. Thank you!

This has brought up a new question that needs to be answered.

The Question: By the time I open my Day in Vermont email and check the auction, the painting has already sold. How can I make sure to have a chance at the new painting?

The Answer: Some auctions close quickly because someone has purchased the painting using the “Buy Now” option. Since the email newsletter may or may not arrive at the exact same time to all subscribers, I now start all new auctions at 10:30 AM EST, exactly. The email goes out shortly after that. So, if you are interested in being first in line to view the new original auction painting, please check my website directly at 10:30AM EST Monday morning, at www.peterhuntoon.com.

In summary, the one small but important change is that the new auction will be posted at a consistent time each week, Monday at 10:30AM EST.

I have added this to the existing FAQ Page that explains in detail the auction process. You can review the entire list here: FAQ

As always, Please let me know if you have any questions. My aim from the start has been to make the auction easy, fun, and fair for all.

Thanks again for all your support!

With warmest regards,

My reaction to this picture was an immediate smile & giggle
    Amusing & fun

  2. Cynthia Adams

I LOVE the title of the painting. Great scene; and I also remember the true barn dances( aging ….). Thank you for a smile!

  3. Beth Ann Rossi

I take except with this painting. None in the gaggle are wearing masks or social distancing during the barnyard dance. Or have allowances been made in Vermont that I don’t know about? BTW it looks like they’ve got the two step down pat. This is most certainly a happy place to be on a Monday morning. Thanks Peter.

If this one doesn’t bring a smile to your face, nothing will. Perfect for an overcast day and country. I love it.

  5. Christopher Thrane

You made my Monday morning brighter when I saw this! The first thing I did was smile!

The title Barn Dance is perfect for this typical Vt. farm scene. Thinking how the geese love dusting their
wings in the snow, strutting and dancing, it brought instant fun filled visions of the barn dances we loved.
I could almost hear the dance band and even feel the dance floor swaying up+ down. Your paintings
    stir emotions, Very nice

Peter, The #12 comment was my mistake. I’m not sure how I did it. Please disregard, Thank you!

  8. Peter Huntoon

Thank you for all the support and comments folks! I deleted that odd one Susan. Tx!
