Tulip Society May 23, 2016
Come spring, tulips are among the first flowers to arrive.
Tough act to follow.
They often grow together in tidy parcels and arranged rows.
Perhaps they belong to an exclusive, private, members-only club.
When they look that good together, bold, brilliant, and beautiful, why not?
Or maybe we just plant them that way.

Tulips are beyond my favorite flower. You, as always, capture the newness of the first tulip. One would think that writing from Washinton state would tire of the tulip fields, but you would be wrong. For me, visiting the fields are no longer reasonable so I harvest the cut tulips sold in the grocery stores!
Your vivid picture is absolutely the best way to start the new day! Thank you for sharing your talent.
I think this is my first Tulip painting, Janet. It probably won’t be the last. They are real beauties for sure. Thanks!
Ah, Spring! Thank you, Peter! I look forward to your Monday paintings…..seems to set up the whole week with positive vibes! Martha
Thank you Martha, I figured Monday was a good day to share. Glad you enjoy it!
LOve this one, Peter! The close up glimpse and lovely spring colors are a fun gift to start the day!
Thanks for creating the fun!
Thank you Judy, I pulled over on the side of the road and was crawling around someone’s yard taking my reference photos. I know folks must think I’m nuts when they see me doing my thing with a camera. They have no idea their flower bed is now famous. 🙂
The colors are so happy! Thank you!
Thanks Susan, me too!
Beautiful, just beautiful. Nothing says the beginning of Summer like tulips!
Agreed, thanks David!
This beautiful painting brings to mind a passage from the gospel of Luke, “Or take the lilies: they do not spin, they do not weave: but I tell you, Solomon in all his splendor was not arrayed like any one of them.”
Yes, simple beauty alone is a good enough reason. Thank you Brian!
LOVE this !!!! It is so summery and uplifts my spirit !!
Thanks Dhyan, as all your support lifts mine!
TULIPS! One of my FAVORITE FLOWERS. But you can’t have “just ONE!”
Lovely work as always!
The TV painter Bob Ross always said: “Every tree needs a friend.”…same is true for tulips. Thanks Victoria!
Stunning Peter!!!
Thanks Mary Fran, good luck in Open Studio this weekend!
This is so lovely!
Thanks Debbie!
Tulips are happy flowers, and yes, they mean spring is here, and almost summer!
Late coming this year, but I can smell the lilacs this morning. Thanks Deanie!
Love, love, love! Beautiful.
Thanks Mimie!
Love this! Would be a beautiful piece to add to our collection then I’d have tulips! I plant purple tulips every year and alas the deer like them the best, I’m ok with sharing though!
This would go good with the flowers we painted together Debbie. 🙂 Thanks!
Love the colors, and the quote made me chuckle! Thanks, Peter!
Thanks Sue, I thought this quote was a Yogi Berra, but when I googled it found it was Groucho. A good one!
What a breath of spring these tulips are! Love the colors and can see them just swaying in the breeze on a beautiful spring day!
That’s exactly what they were doing Mary. Had to wait for the breeze to die down to snap my photo. Thanks!
Exquisite!!! What joy you send us on Mondays!!
Thanks Muriel!!
They pop up, like saying “see me!, SEE ME!” — .(..guess that’s why they’re called 2 LIPS.).. Forgive me…I really am glad it is Monday… Cynthia
You are forgiven, Cynthia. Good one!
Peter you continue to brighten our lives with your wonderful art! Thank you for all you do in
capturing that moment in life.
My pleasure Winnie, thank you!
