Winter Daybreak Jan 5, 2015

A new day dawns, the start of a new year.

Dreams are dreamed, plans are made. The warm morning light of possibility emerges.

Beginnings have magic…if we believe.

Strategic Plan 2015

I’ll admit that “losing a few pounds” is (again) my 2015 resolution.

But as long as I can still get into the pair of husky jeans, that goal remains optional.

My strategic plan isn’t.

Most corporations wisely develop and implement something called a strategic plan.

It’s a good way to start the year…review what’s important and get the big picture back into focus.

It’s all too easy to lose sight of important in the midst of urgent.

My strategic plan for 2015 is simple. I wouldn’t stand a chance otherwise.

Strategic Plan 2015: Keep doing what I’m doing…

1. Post one good (the very best work I’m capable of) painting each week on A Day in Vermont.

2. Continue to follow my heart…push myself in new directions, take chances, fail, learn, grow.

3. Generously share the creative adventure with you, in every way I can.

4. Live in daily gratitude. I’ve discovered that art has an amazing ability to connect us in truly meaningful ways. Connecting us to Vermont, to ourselves, and with each other. I’m sincerely thankful for the experience we’ve shared so far, and look forward to another great year of celebrating Vermont together.

Hail to the Chief!

It’s an honor to paint a Private Commission.

Meeting and working with nice people on a custom project is always a rewarding experience.

I’m able to accept a limited number of private commission assignments each year. More on private commissions HERE.

My final project for 2014 was commissioned by friends of Chief James Baker, of the Rutland City Police.

Thank you!

As you may know, I get to give away a free print each month to one random subscriber.

It’s one small way I can show my appreciation for your amazing support.

I’ll announce our winner for January next Monday.

Oh my!!! What an amazing play on light. Just love this painting……now my favorite 🙂
It reminds me of ” Waking up early in the morning & looking out at the darkness where in the distance the light from the rising sun shines over this peacefulness, like a lost loved one watching over us. ” Thank you, Peter.

    • Peter Huntoon says:

Thanks Mary Fran, as you know, I have never considered myself a “painter of light”, but I did have fun with that element on this painting for sure. I too love that moment the sun breaks through.

  • Thank you for the weekly inspiration! As a fellow artist, I am encouraged and motivated by your work. As a native of Vermont, seeing your work helps me maintain my emotional connection to my home state. Thanks for sharing the beauty!

Thanks Loralee. Inspiring others may be a fortunate side effect of doing our best work. As a fellow artist you’ll know it’s true when I say that’s not always easy. Knowing there are friends out there who appreciate it sure makes it easier. Happy painting!
