A Road Less Traveled Mar 6, 2014
Whenever I come to a fork in the road… I try to follow my heart.
But my heart has a very soft voice.
Especially compared to my noisy head.
If I have the patience, wisdom, and courage to listen, it never steers me wrong.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost

Free Print Winner for March
Each month I like to give away a free print to one Day in Vermont subscriber. I use Random. org to generate a number that corresponds with my subscriber list. Our free print Winner for March is Tracy Weatherhogg, a local neighbor right here in Middletown Springs, VT. Here is what Tracy had to say…
“As your paintings so beautifully capture, I love Vermont because of the simple beauty of its landscapes, animals, and people and communities. In every season, there is tremendous beauty to behold! Thanks for so wonderfully portraying that beauty through your amazing paintings and through the inspiring and uplifting weekly emails that are a gift each time I open them. Thanks Peter!!”
Next Week: No Day in Vermont
Unfortunately I need to take next week off. Doctors orders. No worries, it’s just a temporary setback. I’ll be back on track with a new painting on Monday the 17th, when this extended auction ends. I plan to enjoy the prescribed couch time with a good book or two!
I will miss you,but rest is what we all need more of,rest easy my friend.
However I will be bidding on this new heart touching painting,It really spoke to Paul and I.
Thanks for the support on both counts Olivia!
I like that picture. Reminds me of driving along a snowy lane. Sorry you are no feeling up-to-par. Take your time and get better soon.
Thanks David!

Peter, I always tell my granddaughter to ‘take the road less travelled’ because you never know what you will find. You found it in this painting. It is wonderful. Have a restful week and don’t worry-we’ll all be here waiting for you. Be well. Arlene
And we find some our best discoveries there don’t we? Thanks so much Arlene
I hope all goes well with the doc. Enjoy your rest.
Thanks Brian!
What a great time of year to take a time out….Relax and refresh!
Thank you Mary, and yes I agree, a good time to lay low and dream of spring.
Another beautiful painting that brought as mile to my face this morning!
Wishing you all the best while you take a little break.
Thank you Karen!
it is amazing how different the colors are on a sunny day…you captured that sought after beauty we need so much at this time of year. Good luck on your recoup.
Thank you Christine! I am going to surprise you one of these Wed nights at the Chaffee and show up for a painting lesson.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost — a quote that I always cherish – it was a part of my 8th grade valediction speech — and whenever I have to make a decision, I am reminded of it. Wonderful expression of the road less traveled in this painting. Have a great rest — and take care of you — so we too can continue to enjoy your special talents.
Thanks so much Daisy, I (too?) live by a handful of favorite quotes that help guide my decisions.
I love the warmth in this painting. It reminds me of the many quiet walks I’ve taken down dirt roads in the Vermont countryside. So many times I have taken the road less traveled on foot with camera in hand or when making life decisions.
Thank you Elise!
Beautiful once again Peter and I also really like the “Late Winter Blues” of this last Monday. We will miss you and your paintings next week but pray that you will have a restful time of recuperation. Barby and David
Thanks for the tremendous support Barby & David!
Nothing is more important than your health, so please get your rest. I will just have just to be be patient and wait for my next “A Day In Vermont”. Being that I am from New Jersey, I pretty much see all of your paintings as “a road less traveled”. The rural setting and it’s intimacy is what’s most appealing to me about Vermont. Just get well my friend!
Thanks Randy!
great painting again..wishing you well..with all the others!
Thank you Sue!
You inspire so many day after day with your talent and look at life. I wish there was something we could do to help you “recharge” and heal. Take care of yourself. Wishing you only, always the best.
Thanks so much Sue!
Hope you are resting and getting better!
I am on both counts Olivia, thanks!
