Bellow Falls Vermont May 30, 2016
Every year I paint at least one flowering fruit tree.
This one happens to grow next to Miss Bellows Falls Diner, which happens to mark the entrance into downtown.
Bellows Falls borders the Connecticut River, which happens to stretch along Vermont’s edge.
And more often than not for this artist, the edges of Vermont happen to be far enough.

You can take the artist out of Vermont…
Every now and then the universe conspires (usually with my wife) to get me out of Vermont.
We thoroughly enjoyed a few days away recently.
Of course there’s beauty and inspiration to be found everywhere.
For any artist, the key isn’t in knowing where to look.
It’s more about how.

I love this painting of the Cape. I am especially appreciative of how you handled the composition…the fence leads the eye without obstructing the view. Great! Thank you so much for sharing.
I painted out of the back of my pick-up truck here Angie. It was as if the fence was put there just for me to use in my painting. Thanks!
I love this! Spent a lot of time in Woods Hole in my younger days. Thank you for this. I just purchased a print!
We had coffee there every day. Great little town. I’ll be shipping your print today, Susan. Thanks very much!
Whenever I drive into Vermont, I always come up Route 12 through NH and cross into Vermont in Bellows Falls. Thanks, and Happy Memorial Day.
Every town has it’s own unique entry point. This one’s a real beauty. Thanks Brian!
Gotta say this one from the Cape makes me grin big time! I do so love your work! We now live near the Cape after 14 years in the Adirondacks. The two environments feed my spirit. Thanks for including this lovely composition. I agree with Angie, the fence leads the eye beautifully!
You are a lucky girl Judy, I agree that our environment has the capacity to feed our spirit and soul. Thanks!
Two exquisite paintings this week! Love the many varied shapes and angles of the elements of composition in both. Also enjoy the sparkle and liveliness of pleasing and cleanly handled complementary colors throughout. I’ll bet that early spring wind on Cape Cod was a might chilly!
You know that wind was chilly and steady, Brian. That little bit of exposed face had a good wind/sun burn on it after a few hours in my truck bed. Ahh, but worth every second. Thank you!
Beautiful paintings – Thank you for sharing
Thanks Kay!
An instant smile crossed my face at this happy picture of Bellows Falls. A glowing Vermont in all its glory, season by season, day by day…
Thats a great tag-line Rebecca, I might have to steal it. Thanks!
NICE and cheery for a Spring morning; glad you enjoyed the Cape. Like me though, one may not take Vermont out of the girl..Cynthia
I’m always ready to come home after a few days, to my wife’s chagrin. I could have worse faults. Thanks Cynthia!
Lovely….beautiful and colorful. I went back up to Lefferts Pond the next day in the AM…of course the light was different, but I was able to get a satisfactory finish to it…think I at least got the peacefulness. Going painting at the Cape in a couple of weeks to practice the “cutout shapes”. Something tells me I won’t need a hoody though…maybe a sunbrella!
Yes, bring sunscreen and have fun with your shapes Christine. Glad you are happy with your Leffert’s painting. I’m still working on mine. The Cape was just starting to get busy when we were there, and we said more than once…”I can’t imagine this place in the summer.” Let me know. 🙂
I recognized it right off as BF. I was born and brought up there. The painting is great. Jean
Thanks Jean, it’s a wonderful area and you must have had a great childhood. I’ll have to explore further.
I grew up in Bellows Falls …..graduated in 1971…….it will always be home for me.
A gorgeous area Laurie, even for an occasional visitor like me!
Hallo Peter, your paintings are the best advertising for your country. It’s so fabulous. A very nice corner of the world. The “Vermonters” have to be carefull with Vermont. Greetings from a rainy Duisburg.
Thanks for the kind compliment Doris. I’m not trying to advertise, at least in the commercial sense of the word…just telling the “truth” as I see it. Glad I’ve found a few nice folks like you who see it that same way.
