February Flowers Feb 15, 2021
My wife has a beautiful voice, and once in a great while she’ll sing for me.
When she sang “You don’t bring me flowers anymore” recently, I took note!
The local grocery store had a fine selection and I chose this bouquet to bring home. Of course it didn’t take long to visit my studio.
There are many similarities between music and painting, and I enjoy using musical elements in my work.
Here for example, I felt a distinctive rhythm and directional thrust in the arrangement, emulating that movement and lilting tempo with my brush. The gentle blue-green color harmony, subtlety nuanced, keeps things light and fresh.

So lovely for February who’s weather is wind , snow and cold .
Today’s painting, February Flowers is beautiful. I love the poetic image it evokes, the fragility of life in glass. Thank you for sharing your artwork with us.
So refreshing to see the lightness of your painting this week. Very uplifting.
I love this painting. It reminds me of my Grandmother. She had a flower garden and would pick fresh flowers every morning and place them in a mason jar.
Music and painting. You are so poetic… the flowers are lovely… thank you…
Nice to ponder…. somewhere below all this snow/cold are sleeping plants not ready to awake yet.
Just beautiful and serene.
So beautiful..would love to have this in my living room..dreaming of Spring and warmer weather..❤️
Beautiful! I love the story that goes along with it.
So much energy radiating from the center! Like an abstract floral nebula in the cold blue of space (February). I love it!
So much energy radiating from the center! Like an abstract floral nebula in the cold blue of space (February). I love it! I also enjoy the photo of your workshop…the subject matter…and the final sentience of your rich imaginings…and the landscape of your artistic battlefield.
Made me laugh Peter – you brought the flowers for your wife then took them to your studio!
Love the painting!
How lovely and the story with it.
Wise man to make the purchase.
Talented man to paint it & preserve for prosperity.
Lucky man to have met & married your wife.
3 for 3 Peter, great start to ’21! My best to you both
Thank you all for the great comments, always fun to read and much appreciated!
Beautiful, Peter!
Hope she loved it! 🙂
