Autumn Garden Oct 21, 2019
This painting began in September, on location in the lush meadow behind the Sparkle Barn in Wallingford.
I worked on it last weekend at Art in the park, and finally finished it yesterday in my studio.
Of course we share something in common with autumn, a garden, and art.
The natural cycle of life.
A beautifully repeating process of transformation and change.

It’s a fun way I get to say thanks for your amazing support. I couldn’t do this without you!
With all the recent autumn color to paint, September got away from me.
So we are catching up. Here are our winners for both September and October.
Our first winner is Roxanna MacMartin of Brattleboro, VT. Roxanna chose “Northfield Bridge” and had this to say…
Our second winner is Lisa Morin of Putnam, CT. Lisa chose “Lake Bomoseen” and had this to say…
Our third winner is Rob Aird of Frederick, MD. Rob chose “Angel Wings” and had this to say…
I am forever grateful to have known Peter for many years, first in the construction industry and subsequently through his amazing art. As he explains, taking the time to focus on an object or scene enables us to see more than we do at a glance. He is my guru for mindfulness. Thank you Peter.”
Our fourth winner is Lenor Filler, of South Boston, VA. Lenor chose “Cape Cod Light” and had this to say…
“Many years ago my sister bought her first new car. and we took a trip from Buffalo across Lake Champlain on the ferry at Fort Henry. My introduction to beautiful Vermont. After I married I lived in New England, Ct. N.H. and 30 years on Cape Cod. I am in Virginia now and miss N.E. terribly. Peter’s paintings represent all of the aura of the N.E. area, I love his work and appreciate every Monday morning offering. Thanks so much.”

Am happy for those who win, but am happier that these old eyes can still see your wonder-filled colors. Mt. Ascutney outdid itself in color – a few feeble attempts with my cheap camera- still waiting for Mr. Huntoon !!
Great colors this year for sure. Thanks Conni!

Love the light in this painting!
Thanks Mary Beth!
Love this beautiful capture of a late summer/early fall garden. My garden is frozen, tilled under, and becoming blanketed with autumn leaves, now falling in great numbers. Can’t complain, however, as the harvest, though late, was great! (especially the tomatoes)
Thanks Brian, glad you had a good harvest!
I love the colors, you continue to bring our wonderful state alive.
Thanks Pat!
As always, Beautiful! I love the colors of autumn..
Thanks Shawna!
