Balloons over Quechee Jun 20, 2013

We enjoyed the Saturday evening launch of the Hot Air Balloons at the annual festival in Quechee last weekend. It’s really an amazing thing to see.

As I watched the colorful balloons drift over the trees I vowed to save my pennies (and courage) for a ride next year.

This painting captures that last look above Quechee’s Main Street.

The winds have welcomed you with softness,

The sun has greeted you with its warm hands,

You have flown so high and so well,

That God has joined you in laughter,

And set you back gently into

The loving arms of Mother Earth.

All your paintings remind us of the treasure that is Vermont

Peter, would you have been infringing on copyright laws if you included the WICKED balloon in your painting? That was a truly awesome balloon! Carl

Hi Carl, the last thing I would do is infringe on anything, at least intentionally. A good question. That was a very cool balloon!

Great piece… makes me think that you should put SolarFest on your Day in Vermont list and come capture our magic. Let me know if I need to sweeten you up by offering up a free pass…

    • Peter Huntoon says:

Thanks Patty, consider SolarFest on the list. Thanks for the free pass offer…but I am happy to support the worthy cause that so many (like you) work very hard for. See you in July!
