Here Comes The Sun Sep 21, 2015
The lush summer greens gradually yield to yellow and orange.
A dazzling display of visual warmth to tide us over until Spring.
Speaking of great Beatles’ songs, another one comes to mind.
The sunflowers and photo I used for this painting are compliments of my neighbor, Chris Edmunds.
I get by with a little help from my friends.

“Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun,
and I say, It’s all right”
George Harrison
Love the vibrant colors!
Thanks Sandy!
Hi Peter –
FYI – “Here Comes the Sun” was written by George Harrison only. Lennon/McCartney did not help to write it. Just wanted to point this out because Harrison was often underrated in his musical contributions to the band.
Thanks Kim, good to know. I found that credit somewhere on the internet. Who knew the internet could be wrong!? 🙂
From the Sunflower state of Kansas, Love it!
Thanks very much Martha!
Beautiful, just beautiful! I remember Mom growing sunflowers in our garden. It was always a race to see who got the seeds; the birds or us! (The birds usually won!)
Nature always prevails. Thanks David!
The sky is never more blue than it is when seen over a row of sunflowers on a crisp autumn day in Vermont! Ok, there usually is a cloud or two, but to include them or not is the joy of the artist!
Thanks Brian, I thought about including the clouds, but ultimately decided the pure blue was a more effective foil to the flowers. Someone said painting is nothing but a series of decisions, usually from big to small. If they didn’t, they should have, 🙂
Some of my favorites. I have several “volunteers” in my gardens. Nice job.
Thanks Peggy, you are one of my favorites too!
You never allow us to be bored. Mondays are great because you give us such joy in your creative work! Beautiful summer end blessings and now we have the indescribable Fall to anticipate how you will encourage our days.
It’s never boring for me either…you keep me on my toes Muriel! Half the fun is the weekly discovery of the next subject. I’ll be out later this week looking for it. Today I’m in the studio working on a large oil. Thanks Muriel!
Feels like summer is right around the corner! Thank you for the encouragement
Thanks Betsy, hopefully we can sustain that optimism com Feb and March!
Glowing sunflowers against a fantastically blue sky.
Wonder if you started off with your usual pink?
Lovely
Thanks Monique! No pink here…check out the small photos to the right above..you can see one of my initial start.
