Middlebury Falls Oct 13, 2014

How could you not love Middlebury?

It has the best of everything… good people, vibrant downtown, unique shops, fine art, great food.

An artist could wander around here for years and not run out of subjects.

This town grew up around the mighty falls.

And that’s just the way I painted it. (see video here)

And the Winner is…

Congratulations to Marie Pennington of Rutland, our free print winner for October.

Marie chose Holiday Spirit, and had this to say about Vermont…

“VT is a beautiful and special place. After living just outside of NYC for several years, it was easy to make the decision to live in VT. After just one visit, it felt like home. Now, we’ve been here 30 years! Any time I’ve been away, when I return, that “coming home” feeling returns. The mountains, the lakes, the golf courses, skiing, hiking, winter, spring, summer, fall, you name it, VT is my home. Thank you so much!”

As a small way to say thanks for all your support I draw a new winner every month from my Day in Vermont subscriber list. If you aren’t subscribed yet, Subscribe Today!

When the news is full of the bad in Vermont,
your portraits show all the good there is to be
found in Vermont. The scenes, towns and residents
are a wonderful reminder of everything that is
wonderful in our state. Thank you!

Thanks so much Lynette, I love that my work can remind us of the incredible natural beauty all around us. And it’s all too easy to forget. Gratitude is a choice I try to make daily.

Sitting there with the sights, smells, and sounds of that powerful water was amazing. I can’t really explain it, but I’m sure thankful we can capture and share the experience through art. Thanks Peggy!

Part of the fun for me (too) is the suspense of the next painting. I don’t know what next Monday’s painting will be yet…but I am going to start hunting today. Thank you Joanne!

    • Peter Huntoon says:

That is funny Gregory, I didn’t do it on purpose…but then again, maybe I did? Thanks for the big support!
