Observation Deck Apr 16, 2018
Observational ability is important for an artist.
So what do we look for?
Well, it easy to spot the differencesbetween things.
I find it’s often more rewarding to discover and reveal what connectsthem.
Beauty, love, joy and friendship are found in affinity.
Thanks to my neighbor Nancy Edmunds for the great reference photo!

Speaking of Connection….
It’s clear that our mutual affinity for Vermont and art has brought us together.
I’m grateful for that every day.
The incredible support and feedback I receive inspires me to give you the very best of myself in return.
Here’s one recent example of connection I’d like to share, (with permission)…
The “label” below arrived on a Vermont Maple Syrup Jug. Thanks Randy!
Loving the owl picture. Have a great week
Thanks Karen!
What a wonderful tribute and treat that Randy sent. I am amazed re owls; they are extremely alert and smart. I hear them in the night sometimes. SPRING would be nice… we have new white/wet/crunchy cover today!
Thanks Cynthia!
Love it…love the textures
Thanks Susan!
Love the label on the maple syrup jug. The note sent with it speaks for many of us. Your paintings and today’s items bring back memories of my honeymoon 55 years ago. Thanks for refreshing those memories. Am amazed at your beautiful paintings capturing so well the flavour of that special part of this beautiful world. Thanks for sharing so generously. LOVE Vermont!!!
Thanks Joan!
A wonderful abstract painting and a tribute to camouflage in nature. I smiled as I admired the sleepy owl merging into his background of owl-like trees and branches. Makes me think of numerous times over the years when I was surprised to see birds (or animals) seem to “magically” appear from their natural surroundings.
Lost and found. Nature at her best. Thanks Brian!
GREAT painting!!!
Thanks Nancy!
Thank you for sharing this unique painting. I love owls. 🙂
Thanks Melodie!
What a thrill to see my note posted on “A Day In Vermont”! Just wanted you to know that it took some time and thought to create the jug because I really wanted to make something special and express my sincerity for all you have done for us. The note took no thought and only 2 minutes because it came directly from my heart. I took your advice, “Follow Your Heart”!
Anything from the heart is fine art in my book. Thank you Randy!
Another winner! From my observation this was a very WISE subject second only to its execution. Sweet as maple syrup.
Thanks Chris!
Reminds me of the owl I caught in a photo this winter. Sweet!
Thanks Carol!
Hello. Your paintings are beautiful. Wondering if you have painted Dorset Inn in the summertime?
Thanks Marie. Not yet but maybe this summer…
