Opening Day Nov 21, 2012

Opening Day was inspired by a morning spent at a local fishing derby, where children and parents fish for the big prize. It is always exciting to see a fleeting moment and know that it will be a great painting. When I saw the boy picking the worm from his bucket, the painting was all but done. In many paintings, I am able to draw from the fond memories of my own childhood growing up in Vermont. My father showed me the secrets of fish, and as it turns out, life.
