Orchard Road Sep 19, 2013

Apple picking in Vermont is an annual event enjoyed by many. A gallon of fresh cider is always high on my list of September priorities.

I dropped by Mendon Mountain Orchards on Tuesday just in time to catch a few U-pickers with their bags full.

Apple picking is a bit like life. They’re always redder on the other side.

Peter. It is great to see some of my favorite spots in VT. If you take the dirt road on the right just down the hill through the Mendon Orchard you will come to an English style stone cottage house that will take your breath away. There might be a gate but the people are really friendly.

Thanks so much Tim! I am indeed familiar with that cottage, and even more familiar with “Lindholm’s Pond” right behind it. As teens we would occasionally sneak up there and catch a few nice fish. Not sure if those visits would have been met with friendliness, but it sure was fun at the time….circa 1976.
