Shrewsbury Meeting House Apr 6, 2015
Community Pancake Breakfast.
Those magic words got me back up to Shrewsbury last Saturday.
Held during Vermont’s Maple Open House weekend, they weren’t skimping on the syrup.
I painted this on the spot after breakfast, and then went home for a long afternoon nap.
Enjoy the video capturing this authentic Vermont experience here.

And the winner is…
Congratulations to our free print winner for April, Gail Cameron of Ludlow, Vermont.
Gail chose “Sunday Bandstand”, and had this to say…
“I was born and raised in Rutland. I love the country feel of Vermont, the kindness of Vermonters, and can’t imagine living anywhere else. Sunday Bandstand brings me back 60+ years to when my parents brought their young family to the band concerts.”
I loved watching you develop your painting on the attached video. Looking forward to seeing your paintings that depict Spring and Summer in Vermont.
Me too Diane. I make it a point to appreciate every day as it comes, but I am ready for a little spring and summer too. Thanks!
Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, you bring out the joy of our home state. We loved the video and felt as if we were there watching the wonder on peoples faces as you painted, the kids having fun, and the smell of the syrup and pancakes. Loved the dog on his walk with his master. Every Monday we go on a new adventure with you, hopping right into the picture and enjoying the moment.
Just knowing you will be there on Monday helps me to do my very best work Muriel. I would never want to let you guys down. Thanks so much for your consistently creative and positive comments!
Just shared this with a friend living in Spain who was raised in Shrewsbury. I attended her wedding at the Meeting House a number of years ago. Her husband passed away earlier this year from injuries sustained by being hit bay a car. I hope it can bring her some comfort with happy memories.
A sad story Rosemary, and I too hope art can help comfort just a little bit.
You AMAZING “ARTEEEST,” you!!!! Your concentration through the breakfast crowd is amazing…AND…you gave great advice to anyone who would pursue this fine art…we could all remember not to judge ourselves so harshly….So, now, after seeing this…those “left-over Belgian waffles from Easter brunch are calling….COMPLETE with a little VT maple syrup! THANK YOU, Peter!!!!!
I notice that virtually any advice I find myself giving others is always approriate and applicable to me. Meaning I need to follow my own advice too…ie do as I say not as I do. The carbs and sugar powered me through this painting, with plenty of left over enegy for dispensing free advice to anyone who got too close.
Your paintings are a breath of fresh air !
Thank you Anita! I’m a happy painter and I guess i can’t help but put a little bit of that into my work.
Wow, old memories arise…..
Hope they good ones Nola, thanks!
