Snow Day Feb 20, 2014
I love to go out on snowy days with my camera and sketchbook.
And those days haven’t been hard to come by lately.
A translucent veil gently obscures the distant landscape.
I wonder what the cows think of all the snow.
They seem to take it all in stride and enjoy each day as it comes.
Sound wisdom.

“All the good ideas I ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.”
Grant Wood
I love it!
Thank you Olivia!
This is wonderful. Where is it? These are holsteins I think?
Like Nancy says below, these are holsteins. This farm is on the Creek Road (Otter Creek) just north of Wallingford…maybe into Clarendon. Thanks Sukie!
love the winter sceen with the cows. Makes me feel like i am hiome again Too bad they are not Jerseys
they give the richest milk and that is what my brother raises.
Thankfully there is room for both Holsteins and Jerseys in Vermont, and in my paintings. Thanks Noreen!
Holsteins. Now that’s a keeper. Love it! The folks that get to see that scene every day are the luckiest! Thank you Peter.
We are indeed lucky Nancy. A gratitude attitude solves and/or salves many a would-be problem. Thank you!
This reminds me of my childhood and driving in winter through the Iowa countryside.
I have never been to Iowa, but it must be beautiful.
Very nice Peter.
Thanks Joe
Your pictures capture all that is good about our wonderful state. Thank you!
Thank you Mary, I really appreciate that testimonial!
This is a wonderful painting. I think cows and Vermont are a perfect pair. Thank you!
Great picture! Cows coming home on a snowy day. Love it!
Sorry I missed the chance for a final bid!!!!
Wonderful painting! Cows and red barns certainly belong together in VT scenes. Thanks for this site – such fun to look forward to a new painting every few days and the commentary that goes with them is inspired. Thanks, too, for your most generous free ecards. What fun to show off your works to others!
