Snowy River Dec 19, 2013
Winter settled in this week with a fresh blanket of snow, just in time for the holidays.
There’s a feeling of peace to be found in the muffled silence of falling snow.
A sound to savor while it lasts.
Indifferent for now, the river ambles on through the frozen crust of December.

“A snow day literally and figuratively falls from the sky, unbidden, and seems like a thing of wonder.”
Susan Orlean
A view that reminds me of winter drives down Rt 30 and other spots in central VT.
Close Marty, Rt 140 between Middletown Springs and Poultney. A favorite view for sure.
Happy Holidays Peter, I’m not sure which I enjoy more your paintings or you prose. A Day in Vermont always makes me stop, breath and smile. Thanks you for some wonderful memories.
Hi Diane! I really appreciate your comments, but I can’t say I like my chances of earning a living on my poetry. I have always made up little stories in my head as I’m painting, now I’m just writing them down and sharing. Happy Holidays up in Canada!
Peter.
Another beautiful scene. So peaceful one week before Christmas.
It brings me back to when Dan was a child. I can see Emmet Otter and his Mom riding down the river and singing. Ah, the Muppets. Thanks for the joy. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Thanks so much Michele. Like a long forgotten scent that brings fond memories flooding in, a painting can do that too. Magic.
Just beautiful Peter. A wonder-filled Christmas to you and Mareva! Barby and David
Thanks very much Barby, and a very happy holiday to you guys too!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks Wendi!
A perfect Vermont view!
We are lucky to live here Lowell, surrounded by perfect views. Thanks!
awesome! love the high contrast
Thanks Christine! I did dial up the contrast a bit and it worked out for this one.
Peter: your prose is very good, maybe you should write an illustrated book of prose. Enjoying every painting
that comes my way.
Buzz
Thanks so much Buzz, glad you are enjoying the paintings and prose. I’ll do my best to keep em coming. A select collection of posts, perhaps “A Year in Vermont” might happen as a book. It’s something on my list!
Peter, I love not only your artwork, but your comments about the changes in nature. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the comment and support Deanie, and Merry Christmas to you too!
