Tamarack Dance Nov 4, 2013
The Tamaracks don their finest colors to perform one last dance before winter.
Soon they will exit gracefully, and shed their feathery soft needles to the forest floor.
Native Americans used the bark of the Tamarack to cure aches and pains.
I feel better just looking at them.

And the winner is…
Our Free Print Winner for November is Laura Flynn of Chatham, New Jersey. Here is what Laura had to say…
“I am so excited. I really enjoy your work. My mom is an artist and has turned me on to your work. I love that you have such nice messages describing your paintings. Gringo Jack’s is the print that I choose. Vermont means family to me. I have grown up camping at Lake Shaftsbury before it was a Sate Park. We still visit and stay at the old ranger cottage. In the last 10-15 years we have spent much time in Poultney since our friend has a camp on Lake St. Catherine. It has been nice to view some of your Poultney Paintings. Thanks so much!”
The texture of the paint and the color of the trees just jumps off the monitor screen at you. Very nice
Thanks Marty, I really enjoy the element of texture when using oils. It’s like frosting a yummy cake.
Beautiful! You truly capture their exquisite color and grace. I look forward to seeing ‘what’s next’!
Thanks Wendi, I look forward to seeing what’s next too. It’s often the day before my post when I decide (or stumble upon) what to paint.
I feel better just looking at them too!
The Tamaracks have a very peaceful and relaxing vibe to them, thanks Sue!
this is a really happy painting!
Thanks much Christine, I agree that this one got an extra helping of happy. 🙂
Wow! It’s great to see what you can do with oils!
I’m a kid with a new toy Betsy. Thanks!
