Tunbridge Vermont Mar 31, 2014
The village church set against a mountain slope caught my eye in Tunbridge last week.
I keep thinking “well, this may be the last winter scene.”
But they keep on coming!
All the snow this year has provided plenty of opportunities to explore the whites of winter.
I don’t think I’ve touched the Sap Green on my palette for six months.
Viridian was used in this painting.
Tunbridge is the home of the famous Worlds Fair.
And like most of us the good folks there are eager for some fair weather.

New Studio Assistant
Thanks to the enthusiastic input from our new studio assistant, my paintings are really beginning to improve. Lucie has a real eye for color and a keen interest in marrow bones. A big Thank You to Vermont Dog Rescue Potter’s Angles, who helped us find our new best friend.
Beautiful!
Thanks Olivia!
Wonderful! At first I thought it was the “Little White Church” in Killington on Route 4. You always capture the sense of a Vermont neighborhood. Thanks for sharing, again.
That Little White Killington Church has been on my radar for years. One of these days! Thanks Dianne
I like that picture. A typical Vermont country church in the winter. Nice.
Thank you David!
Never knew about the fair in Turnbridge! I’ll have to check it out. Beautiful painting Peter.
Welcome Lucie! She’s adorable. I hope she give you many happy years of fun.
Yes, you have to visit the fair in the fall, a Vermont classic. Maybe another painting then. So far so good with Lucie. Thanks Wendi!
Love your paintings and the subject matter is dear to my heart <3
Kindred spirits. Thanks Dianne!
Peter, I didn’t know you knew where Tunbridge is. I was brought up in the next town – Chelsea. I have a cousin very interested in this painting and will get her onto your email. Great job as usual.
That whole area is gorgeous, i plan a return trip soon. Thanks for the big support Austin!
I think I have a new favorite. Peter this is beautiful!!
Thanks Melanie!
Love this and especially the green of the roof! Tunbridge is a sweet little village and I remember well attending 4-H cooking meetings there.
Thank you Sukie, can’t wait to see some more green out there!
Great painting once again Peter! Love your little Lucie 🙂 She’s a sweet dog ..just like her new “parents”. You’ll have to give her a brush in hand!!
Thanks Mary Fran, if I could just teach Lucie to cut mats and frame that would be awesome!
Serenity . . , simply beautiful!
Thank you Mary Beth!
Love the viridian! Congrats on your new best friend! She’s a cutie.
Viridian is almost the same hue and phthalo green, but a much gentler soul. Unless I am mixing a very strong dark, I choose Viridian over phthalo. Thanks Betsy!
Love the contrast of gray and dark green…so nice, your white is always so brilliant.
Soothing and uplifting at the same time
I have come to really appreciate and savor “grays”. They can be every bit as beautiful as any full intensity color. Thanks Kate!
