Winter Tree Mar 2, 2020
A bare tree basks in the glow of late winter light.
My idea was to paint a simple tree.
The older I get the more I recognize, appreciate, and aim for simplicity.
Both in life and in art.
As Henry David Thoreau said so well; “Simplify, simplify.”
To which Ralph Waldo Emerson replied; “One “simplify” would have sufficed.”

Another beauty, Peter!! I came across the following quote recently, and it brought your beautiful paintings to mind: “It is art that makes life, makes interest, makes importance, and I know of no substitute for the force and beauty of its process.” Henry James
Thanks Sheila, I really like that quote!
Simple, AND majestic. Beautiful scene.
Thanks Cynthia!
Love this. Brings back wonderful memories of my childhood home and the tree in our backyard meadow.
Thanks Mary!
Love that tree, Peter!
Thanks Deanie!
I think the quote that Sheila shared with us in her earlier comment says it all so beautifully.
Thanks Brian!
Trees are hibernating, resting and yet we still see their beauty and await their spring rebirth.
