Danby Vermont Oct 17, 2022

As an artist I’m often drawn to certain areas for no apparent reason. Maybe it’s just my intuition at work.

Many years of creating art have taught me to trust it. Once the heavy intelectual lifting in a painting is done (composition, design, drawing, etc), I encourage intuition to take over the reins. That’s where the magic happens, if it’s going to.

Lately I’ve been loving Danby Vermont. Danby is famous for its gorgeous white marble used in major projects worldwide. Pearl Buck even made it her adopted home.

“Intuition is the key to everything, in painting, filmmaking, business – everything. I think you could have an intellectual ability, but if you can sharpen your intuition, which they say is emotion and intellect joining together, then a knowingness occurs.” David Lynch

Danby is a pleasant little Vermont village. Used to be a grain / feed mill (Crosby’s) there. My great-uncle is buried in Scottsdale Cemetery there, having been shot during deer season by a member of the hunting party he was guiding in 1921. Nice work, Peter. Follow your intuition always!

We were in Weston a week ago and saw a beautiful painting of yours of Weston. It is a winter scape and it is in the Westown Gallery. We spoke to Mark, the gallery owner, and are interested in purchasing the painting if it is still available. We are in Utah and will have to see about making arrangements to have it shipped.
    Thank you

Thank you Lori! I just contacted Mark and yes, it is still available. Please contact the gallery and hopefully it works out that you can hang the painting in Utah. 🙂 Peter

I would like to purchase a 16 x 20 and an 11 x 14 unframed print of Danby. I would like to pick them up at your studio if that is possible. Please let me know if that is possible and when it will be convenient for you. Thanks.
