Flower Child Aug 10, 2020

Gardens and Grandkids sure grow up fast. My wife does an amazing job tending to both.

I give each painting my very best effort, but some pieces just don’t make it.

That’s to be expected, and encouraged.

The way I see it, a failure is solid evidence that I’m still learning and growing.

It took me three rocky attempts to get happy on this one… a real growth spurt!

Watering the flowers in our yard, oh!! Do many years ago. Thank you for all the beautiful paintings you share with us every Monday, and thanks for the wonderful trip back to Rutland, and my childhood.

Delightful painting, Peter! It brings to mind my mother’s voice (from days gone by) saying, “Good ol’ summertime!” Thanks for invoking that memory! / Enjoy your week off. I will miss seeing “A Day In Vermont” appear in my mailbox next Monday!

Three tries was well worth it! The fresh bright colors and textures wonderfully showcase the sparkle and joys of summertime and youth!

A quote I came across a while ago just came to my attention again. … “Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” Marcel Proust … It seems to me that the people who look forward to “A Day In Vermont” each Monday feel that kind of gratitude & happiness by the paintings and sentiments you share. Thank you for those gifts, Peter!

I’m a native of Rutland living in Chicago. My parents purchased for me the image “Fall on Center” (#836). Unfortunately, even though behind UV glass, it has bleached out. I’d like to purchase another print of the image if you have any.
