Your gentle observation last week that a thing of beauty is appreciated by all the senses really hit home for me in this weeks painting. Through its color choices and its wonderfully flowing and graceful composition, I can hear the wind seeping down across the distant mountain and continuing across the vast and open field. I can smell the crispness in the air and almost taste the “snow devils” that sometimes arise without warning, only to disappear as quickly as they came.
Majestic mountain overlooking the sleeping cornfield…very nice farm ; beautiful colors and your photo is gorgeous. Glad you got the red truck in… Cynthia
Merry Christmas Peter, great depth of field in image……The Lord works in mysterious ways…. and we are all glad you stopped to paint this masterpiece. All the Best ol friend, Rick.
So glad we got to meet you and your picture is just perfect coming up our center staircase! Thank you for taking the time to talk to us and show us your work. You have unlimited talent!
It was a pleasure to meet you and Don, Penny. Thanks for making the trip to visit my studio and I hope you both have a wonderful holiday. Sorry you got a little lost with my directions!
I am one of your many fans and have always loved your paintings. I even had the the good fortune to be one of your students in years past. But for some reason this painting has struck a chord in me like no other and I keep needing to come back to it, to look at it again and again. There is sadness, hope and beauty all at the same time. The image brings to mind a poem by Langston Hughes, (“Dreams”) and its “…barren field frozen with snow.” Thank you for painting this inspiring work.
Thank you for your sincere comments Jennifer. Art certainly has a language all its own, and the purpose of any language is to communicate effectively. Effective communication takes two. I think we both succeeded on this one.
Love so many things in this painting! Another winner!
Thanks so much Susan!
AWE some!!!
Thank YOU Betsy!
Just gorgeous
Thanks Rose!

You see with artist eyes and feel with an artist’s heart, Brian. Thank you!
Great work. I feel cold just looking at it!
Thank you Mike!
As a daily commuter along 30, I always thought this view would make a great painting!
Another good spot is in South Granville (NY) on Parker Hill Road(27), from the top of the hill during sun-rise…
Thanks Jared, I will try to check out that view!
This sure makes me homesick !!!
In a good way I hope, thanks Dhyan!

Yes, that little red truck was a nice accent of pure color opportunity. Thank you Cynthia!

Love this! Our daughter is a senior at GMC and has hiked Haystack Mt. a few times!
Thank you Kimberly. A great place to hike indeed…just not today, at minus 4 degrees!
