August Farm Aug 7, 2023
Each month in Vermont has a flavor all its own. To me August is a rich colorful expression of summer bursting in full bloom. This year I’m really noticing the Queens Anne’s lace and wild blue chicory. I included some here by combining them with a favorite local farm in Pawlet. I had a nice sketch done of the barn, but needed some flowers for visual reference. My solution was to go pick some for the studio. If you saw someone hunkered along the roadside (Rt 140) last week with a big pair of scissors looking suspicious, that was me.

Thank you Cheryl! I’m afraid I won’t be at the park this weekend… For the time being I’m not doing any outdoor shows. Sorry about that!

Love this ! Although barns in my backyard are red or white, this one is ‘pretty’ Not many wooden barns left
Savoring this delicious August eye candy, so sweet. Thanks for both the painting and the poem.
Beautiful painting. Both my mother ( just turned 90!) and I have birthdays in August and I love the painting so much I’m going to order the print. Thank you Peter for gracing my email with your lovely work.
