Cuttingsville Vermont Jun 1, 2026

This recent painting depicts the charming village of Cuttingsville, Vermont. I tucked into a nice shady spot along Rt 103 and set up shop out of the back of my truck. This subject and view put my compositional and drawing skills to the test. The weather has been great for painting outside and I spent two nice days in a row on location, followed by the usual finishing sessions in the studio.

It’s days like these that make me think of a quote from Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot; “I hope with all my heart there will be painting in heaven.”
