Flat Iron Cooperative Sep 28, 2026
Last week I ventured into the southeast end of the state. My first order of business was an outstanding cup of coffee at the Flat Iron Co-op in Bellows Falls. Inspired by the vibrant downtown vibe, historical architecture, and a mild caffeine buzz, I set up shop on the public park bench across the street and went to work.
Fall has arrived and the weather has been great for painting. So much fleeting beauty to behold and capture, there’s not a moment to lose. For as long as the golden season lasts I’ll be out starting a lot of new paintings that I can finish later in the studio. Focused and a little bit frenzied, I’m a lot like a squirrel gathering acorns for the winter.

This tranquil setting would make the first sip of coffee smooth and relaxing with a good book. My husband , Steve, worked in Bellows Falls for years learning the interstate building trade from his father and grandfather of S.V.Rossi & Co. . Thanks for a perfect glimpse into a wonderful community, a hidden treasure of a town Peter.
