Huntington Gorge Aug 25, 2025
The cooler weather prompted a little painting adventure north last week. I started this painting on location one morning at Huntington Gorge. It was my first visit to this stunning crevasse carved deep into solid stone. Now I’ve scampered around on my share of slippery river rocks in search of a subject but this was something different altogether. The sheer force and power of Mother Nature here is palpable, and she demands respect. Fortunately the best view for my painting was from a relatively safe position along the road.
Original Sold. Next Day in Vermont Monday, September 8.

Love seeing all your paintings Peter, because you go places that I have never been either
and you capture the area, as if I was there myself! Hope you are well!

I’ve enjoyed your paintings for the last 45 years. I knew your sister Lynn 45 years ago but I never met you but I certainly do enjoy your work a very very talented person. Thank you.. lake Saint Catherine paintings are so awesome in the gorge. I was there quite a few times.
This painting is so exquisite – I have one of your winter brook originals but this one just took my breath away – just had to have it and was so fortunate that it hadn’t been scooped up already on this Monday at 1:00 – Lucky me. Let me know when it ships!!
I can experience the coolness…
Thank you, Peter.
