How to arrange a hydrangea? That was the question last week.

As she often does, my sweet wife placed a little vase of beautiful fresh flowers from the yard on the kitchen table. As I often do, I took notice and immediately sized them up for a possible painting.

Experience has taught me hard lessons. Flower arrangement is a very delicate, gentle business. My approach to art for the most part, is not. My well intentioned but brash attempts to rearrange flowers always seem to do more harm than good.

This time I left them alone…so often the best strategy in matters of art, and life.
