June Barn Jun 15, 2026

This painting depicts a beautiful barn right here in Middletown Springs. Built in the 1700’s it’s an authentic, quintessential Vermont homestead. I was recently invited to paint on the beautiful property with a few new artist friends staying there. Along with the arrangement of wooden buildings, I was enamored with the morning summer light, the old stone wall, the classic cupola accoutrements, and the dazzling display of white and purple Iris in full June bloom.

The house comfortably sleeps 10+ people and is available for creative retreats and other gatherings through Airbnb: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/50675057

Original Sold. Next Day in Vermont Monday, June 29.

At my grandmother’s Sunrise Dairy Farm the old outhouse was adjacent to the pig pen. All along the fence line was a plethora of iris, just like the ones in your barn painting. They grew hardy and beautiful year after year. Grandma Eva gave me some of the bulbs and they grow beautifully for me year after year even with out a pig pen near by. Your barn painting resurrected this memory for me and I thank you for that kind man.
