Lake Dunmore Jun 19, 2022
A classic view of Lake Dunmore from Branbury Beach State Park.
I thought this painting should be a big one, and so it is. It was exciting to begin such a large piece on location. More often than not the tailgate of my truck serves as my outdoor studio. Necessity being the mother of invention, I recently built and installed a quick-deployment shelter to cover me and my easel. I’ve used it many times since to keep me painting through intermittent rain and blazing sun. It effectively doubles the number of days I can now paint outside. Half the fun of being an artist is solving problems. The other half is creating them in the first place.
