Long Trail School Feb 6, 2014
The Long Trail School in Dorset has been on my list of things to paint since I enjoyed a couple of days there last year.
When I visit a school I’m always amazed at the fearless creative energy of young artists.
And equally impressive is the commitment and compassion of our talented teachers.
Another big thank you to teachers everywhere for all that you do!

And the winner is…
Congratulations to Jean Somerset, our free print winner for February.
Jean chose “Mission Farm” and had this to say…
“My heart is in Vermont. I may live much of the wintertime near San Francisco, but nothing compares with the natural beauty, the sense of values of the people and community, and the meaningful pace of life that I experience when I come “home”.
Thanks for sharing your website with us and keeping a running commentary going on why you selected your scenes. I love being on your site. As a struggling watercolorist, I have watched your demos, bought your prints, and continue to be amazed at your ability to capture the beautiful scenes we see so often in Vermont!”

Just a fantastic image, maybe paint it the other 3 seasons from the same vantage point. It is such a beautiful spot in the fall and summer!
Thanks Kate. So much to paint, so little time…
Nice picture of the Lodge.
Thanks David, I guess Long Trail School does look like a cozy Vermont lodge from this perspective.
