Shrewsbury Vermont Oct 14, 2024

Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot once said; “I hope with all my heart there will be painting in heaven.” I couldn’t agree more. As long as we’re hoping, let’s make it October in Vermont.

When going out to paint, I often have a specific destination or subject in mind. In that case I’ve usually done some preliminary reconnaissance and have a solid plan of attack. Other days are completely spontaneous. The only decision beyond the borders of Middletown Springs is north, south, east, or west.

On this serendipitous Day in Vermont, I chose east and found myself on top of the world up in Shrewsbury. Of course I had to stop at Pierce’s Store for a little snack before getting serious. On the way back to the truck I was reminded, yet again, it’s all good! Five minutes later and a few yards away, I found the perfect spot.

Original Sold. Next Day in Vermont Monday, November 4.
