This painting was inspired by an evening drive through East Poultney last week.
I’ve been thinking about the beauty of transitions lately.
Winter into Spring, March into April, Day into Night.
It seems to me that’s where much of the magic happens.

Winter holds on a bit longer in the hilly areas of Vermont. Late spring snow may still cover the ground, yet early evenings ring to the chorus of spring peepers newly aroused from hibernation, and the much softer nasal “peent” of a nighthawk cruising through a darkening sky. Your painting captures the time of day and season of the year so well.
I feel the peace and serenity of that special moment when I look at this painting.
